The Bournemouth Daytime Community Band is a brand new offshoot of the Bournemouth and District Concert Band.
As part of our work as a charity, we want to venture out into the community and get local people involved in making music. Our Daytime Band is ideal for anyone who:
- hasn’t played music for a long time
- is unable to commit to evening rehearsals or who may not want to go out in the evening
- wants to build confidence in playing music with others
When and where do we meet?
Bournemouth Daytime Community Band meets on the first Wednesday of every month to play music together in a friendly, informal setting. We meet at the community space in Tesco Extra, Riverside Avenue, Bournemouth, BH7 7DY, from 10-11:30am.
How much is it?
Each rehearsal is only £2 to attend, which includes a cuppa.
Getting out into the community
Once the community band is established, we’d like to perform for those who may not be able to get to concerts. We hope to play in local care homes, and there will be the opportunity to join in with members of the main band for our Christmas busking sessions throughout December. Our busking raises money for our chosen charity Julia’s House.
