Social to see Miss Saigon at the theatre

On 7 February, around 20 band members swapped the rehearsal room for a social to see Miss Saigon at the theatre. Of course we combined a trip with some good food too.

Starting the night with food

Band members at the theatreThe night began with dinner at Wagamama, where we had a relaxed and enjoyable meal together. The informal, communal style of dining was perfect. With dishes arriving at the table as they were ready, we were soon surrounded by an array of colourful, tasty plates. It was great catching up with people before making our way to The Mayflower Theatre.

After dinner, we headed to The Mayflower Theatre to watch Miss Saigon. We had excellent seats in the stalls, giving us a fantastic view of both the staging and the performers’ expressions.

An emotional performance

The production itself was gripping and highly emotional – there were certainly plenty of tears. The helicopter scene was especially dramatic and remains one of the most striking moments of the evening. The use of flashbacks was particularly effective, adding emotional depth to the storytelling.

Outstanding musicians

The musicians were outstanding, delivering a rich and compelling score throughout. The young actor playing Tam was truly adorable, and the young actress portraying Kim gave an incredibly powerful performance.

What a fantastic social to see Miss Saigon at the theatre. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and a wonderful opportunity to spend time together as a band. We now look forward to channeling some of that inspiration into our own upcoming musicals concert on Saturday 2 May 2026. See our concerts page for details.
